I’m not sure how I missed part one of Street Politicz from Serius Jones. This time for part two, he links up with Skyzoo. They drop some knowledge in this hip hop video clip. The footage is shot on location in the subway, and starts off as Skyzoo talks about the reasons he makes music.
Skyzoo speaks on the importance of authenticity (are you listening Officer Rawse?) and making music he wants to make. Serius Jones talks about bringing real life into his music, whether its on the streets or dealing with corporate America, and what he considers creativity.
The second part of Street Politicz Part 2 is on some real ish. While riding on the subway train, Skyzoo and Serius Jones talk about why a lot of people say that New York Hip Hop fell off. Both of them let it be known that they don’t blame the DJ.
Skyzoo raises a real good point when he speaks on radio DJs being clamped down to labels, particularly on commercial radio. However, these mixtape DJs and Club DJs frontin’ on good music and playing the same garbage while knowing its wack need a reality check.
Skyzoo and Serius Jones then talk about the reason why NY fell off. Serius Jones basically reiterates what people have been saying forever about everybody in New York thinking they can rap, and the overall hateful atmosphere.
I hear you Serius Jones, but I have a feeling, through artists like yourself and Skyzoo, a change is gon’ come. Anyhow, I’ll be lookin’ out for part 3 of Street Politicz. Press play to check the footage.
