Skyzoo – On Da Spot Video Freestyle

Skyzoo recently stopped in with Statik Selektah at DJ Green Lantern’s Invasion Radio show and goes on On Da Spot to let you know that he comes from an era where when people freestyled, they really freestyled. He goes off the top and spits hotter verses than 99.9% of the industry. Believe it. Skyzoo is the epitome of hip hop music in 2009.

I’ve seen a lot of hip hop artists on Green Lantern’s show, but I don’t think any have actually spit straight off the top and brought the illness like Skyzoo. His album The Salvation should be a damn near classic. At the end of the clip, Skyzoo announces his upcoming mixtape with DJ heavyweights DJ Drama and Statik Selektah. The hip hop mixtape is called Power Of Words, and will be released in April.

Buckshot, KRS-One, and Mary J. Blige – On The Grind Video Trailer

Buckshot, KRS-One, and Mary J. Blige on the same hip hop song produced by Black Milk? The Gods Must Be Crazy… no really, the track is called On The Grind, and is gonna be another absolute classic for hip hop music in 2009. Shout out to Buckshot and Duckdown Records. On The Grind will be featured on Buckshot and KRS-One’s collaborative (note the spelling fail in the trailer) hip hop album, Conflosations, which is due for release in August. Hold off on that Starbucks off for a month, and save up enough to purchase both this album from Buckshot and KRS-One, and also Torae and Marco Polo’s album, which will also be released by Duckdown Records. As a bonus, check the video below of the original recording session of On The Grind, produced by Black Milk.

Torae – Double Barrel Tuesdays Week 1

Well, clearly this wasn’t posted on Tuesday. I hit up Torae this morning and asked about part two of the first edition of Double Barrel Tuesday, and he let me know he was having some trouble with the video conversion. Needless to say, everything is up and running, and Torae came through as promised. In this video, Torae discusses the album, Double Barrel, which is actually a compilation between Da Young Veteran and Marco Polo. The album is coming soon, so save up your extra lunch money and cop it and the t-shirt when it drops!

Fes Taylor Hip Hop Video Interview Part 1 and 2

In part one of the interview, Fes Taylor speaks on his official debut album Inspectah Deck Presents Fes Taylor: Flight 10304. He explains what his first single Ocean Drive is about, and the spirit of traveling. He lets y’all know that Flight 10304 is jam-packed with 21 hip hop songs for you to bang out to, and has both that hood hip hop music as well as a few mainstreamed singles.

Fes Taylor speaks in part one about his situation with the Wu-Tang clan, and that everything is cool, and that Inspectah Deck is looking out for him. Fes Taylor also makes it clear that he’s the leader of the next generation of Staten Island emcees, and Flight 10304 is indicative of that.

In part two of the Fes Taylor interview, he talks about his beef with Joe Budden, which apparently stems from a producer having given Fes Taylor a beat, which he recorded to a year ago. The same beat was then given to Joe Budden, who then crafted and released a song that was essentially identical to Fes Taylor’s. I didn’t even realize there was a beef between the two, but Fes Taylor alludes to Joe Budden being a biter. Seems like everybody’s got problems with Joe Budden.

Behind Closed Doors Presents Jaisu Hip Hop Beats Video

Behind Closed Doors has released their next Hip Hop DVD featuring some of the hottest up and coming hip hop producers. These clip features up and coming producer Jaisu as he plays a few of his hip hop beats for the masses. Jaisu’s sound is crazy, and this should be a very solid product from Behind Closed Doors.

The DVD will also feature a CD of hip hop beats from the featured producers, which also include S-Type. If you are interested in a copy, hit up http://www.louisden.com/bcd.

Shouts to OJ Loopz for getting this video to me. Look out for Jaisu and S-Type to have beats on Tek’s upcoming mixtape, which will be released in conjunction with WeLiveThis.com and Don Notz!

Raekwon – Staten Go Hard Mixtape Cover

Raekwon has been on absolute fire this year dropping new hip hop song after hip hop song. It looks like he’s cooked up a hip hop mixtape for the masses, entitled Staten Go Hard. The hip hop mixtape will be released in conjunction with the Brinks Boys. Word is that Staten Go Hard will not be the only hip hop mixtape that Raekwon releases through the Brinks Boys, as Alex of Killer Beez Promotions has relayed information that Raekwon and Ice Water Inc. will be working with them from here on out.

If Staten Go Hard is anything like the vast amount of hip hop music Raekwon has already released this year, it should definitely be an incredible preview to his Only Built For Cuban Linx 2 album. His Staten Go Hard freestyle, Want In Freestyle, and Letter To B.I.G. Freestyle have all been dope, so there’s no question as to whether Raekwon is going to deliver a masterpiece. There is no word yet on when Staten Go Hard will be released to the masses, but I’m sure Raekwon and his team will keep us updated through his twitter account.
