Get Torae on the Performance Line-Up for Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival ’09

For those in NYC or its surrounding areas that are on twitter, I need you to do this favor. Over the next few days, I need you to tweet to @Brooklynbodega so @Torae can perform at the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival ’09. It’s as simple as that. There’s no reason why Torae should not be performing at the festival this year, especially with the release of Double Barrel. We shouldn’t even have to do be doing this, but it is what it is. So if you love real hip hop music, send out a tweet to @Brooklynbodega so @Torae can peform at the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival ’09. Thank you!

Malice of the Clipse VLog – Rap Life

Malice from the Clipse drops his introductory vlog, and breaks down the difference between real life and rap life. This vlog is a pretty solid watch, though upon watching it made my question as to whether it was released after their former manager got busted for a major drug operation. Who knows, but the Clipse album is coming soon which is definite good news. Malice is sitting in a very nice crib… the cooking of the pancakes was definitely a play on imagery. No rims, no G5s, but comfortable living.

I hope Malice keeps coming with more of these vlogs… this one is definitely worth the watch, especially for those that actually believe 75% of whats said. Remember, music is entertainment. Keeping it real is very important, but to an extent if you understand what I’m saying.

Dan The Man Interview with Gasface

Dan The Man sits down with Gasface for an interview and discusses his falling out with G-Unit and the rise of the straight to YouTube video. Dan The Man speaks on his disappointment with the Funeral Music video, and claims that that was what sparked his falling out with 50 Cent and the G-Unit conglomerate. He states that 50 Cent basically took the direction of the video upon himself, thus taking Dan The Man out of the picture almost entirely.

Dan The Man also speaks on The Mac 10 Handle video, saying that that video made people start caring about Prodigy again. Lastly, he speaks on how the hip hop dvd is essentially dead thanks to YouTube, and how he discovered that YouTube would be the next big thing. Now we gotta wonder how many artists are using YouTube to generate revenue. Any guesses on that one? I wonder what Prodigy is going to say about Dan The Man basically coming out and saying that P had fallen into irrelevant territory before he shot that video. Should be interesting…

Jaisu and S-Type In Store Showcase at Underground Solush’n

Jaisu and S-Type held a listeners showcase to preview a variety of their beats at their in-store at Underground Solush’n in Edinburgh. The event took place on April 25th. It’s good to see that good hip hop music is alive and well overseas… with that real hip hop music, whether you want to call it underground hip hop music or not, resurfacing here in the US, things are definitely looking up.

S-Type also debuted Grind With Me, the track S-Type produced on TEK of Smif-N-Wessun‘s upcoming album 24Kt Smoke. Shoutouts to Jay Large and OJ Loopz of On It Management. Much more to come from Jaisu and S-Type, believe it!
