Jay-Z continues to showcase his business savvy. First D.O.A. (Death of Autotune) launched just few days before Summer Jam, creating a huge stir among the hip hop community. Then word came out that he was shooting a video for D.O.A. (Death of Autotune), and anticipation started brewing. The trailer showed up, and low and behold, it was announced that D.O.A. (Death of Autotune) would debut immediately after the BET awards. Yes, Jay-Z has the power to use a major event to showcase his music. Here is the video. Its cool for what it is, but I don’t know, I don’t believe the hype.
Drake and Young Money Perform Best I Ever Had x Every Girl at BET Awards
Drake and Young Money hit the stage at the BET Awards to perform Best I Ever Had, and Every Girl. Apparently Drake tore his ACL, which caused him to be confined to a chair during his performance. Rumor had it that the Degrassi star was in a wheel chair during part of the awards ceremony. I’m not sure if thats just a rumor or truth, as Verizon FIOS does not offer BET for some ungodly reason, but yeah. Peep the footage of Drake and Young Money performing Best I Ever Had and Every Girl
Michael Jackson Dead At 50 Years Old – R.I.P.

R.I.P. to the greatest to ever do it. As the world already knows, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson died today after suffering a cardiac arrest. It is a sad, sad day. Like him or not, Michael Jackson was an icon. I remember waiting in front of the tv for his videos to come on so I could dance to them. Thriller got countless plays in my walkman… unbelievable. Rest In Peace Michael… you will be missed in the flesh, but your legacy and music will live on for eternity.

Tru-Life Turns Himself In On 1st Degree Murder Charge

Perhaps the biggest shocker in the news today was this one. It seems like a lot of artists are starting to show their support for Tru Life, as I saw Noreaga and Saigon voicing their prays and belief of his innocence. I’m hoping for Tru Life’s sake that he is innocent, as 1st Degree Murder is a serious charge. Here’s the scoop.
Last Monday, June 15, two men were stabbed (one of which was killed), in a Manhattan apartment building. Apparently, the two men were stabbed by gang members as an act of vengeance for the shooting of a drug dealer.
The two men were 30 year old Jason Black, and an unnamed 18 year old. Both men suffered stab wounds to the chest and face, resulting in the death of the 18 year old. Jason Black remains in critical condition.
As for the connection with Tru Life. Well, it is believed that the prior incident involving the shooting of a man was part of an on-going altercation between Jason Black, and the brother of Tru Life.
According to reports, it is believed that Tru Life may have actually been the man who stabbed and killed the unnamed 18 year old. Tru Life turned himself into police yesterday, Tuesday, June 23rd, on a 1st degree murder charge.
As mentioned, the stabbing is rumored to be in retaliation for a 4 a.m. shooting outside Pacha nightclub, where suspected drug dealer Michael Slater was shot in the abdomen. He is currently listed in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital.
Stay tuned for more updates. Say it ain’t so Tru Life.
