Skyzoo Cloudkickers Interview With Emilio Sparks

Skyzoo heads over to Staten Island to chop it up with Emilio Sparks and Cloudkickers.com. Emilio Sparks did a very solid job with this interview. Skyzoo starts off the interview by talking about The Power of Words, and how he puts together his mixtapes. He speaks on why it took a little longer than it should have to put out the mixtape. He discusses what it means to be a lyricist, and how his upcoming album, The Salvation, compares to the The Power of Words. Skyzoo gives his input on the new rise of Brooklyn emcees in Torae, Joell Ortiz, Sha Stimuli, and Nino Bless, and how they are avoiding the machine and still making noise, and also not being included in XXL’s Freshman 10.

Torae and Marco Polo – Double Barrel Training 2

Torae and Marco Polo hit you with another edition of Double Barrel Training in preparation of their June 2nd release of Double Barrel. This time they give you a brief listen to a snippet of Danger while Torae beats the punching bag senseless and gets his weight game on. Three things are for sure after watching this video. The first is Torae makes me feel shameful for not hitting the gym EVER. The second is that a fist fight with Torae would probably mean instant death, or at least a serious concussion and missing teeth. The third is that Torae and Marco Polo have a classic album on hand with Double Barrel, which will be a must for any fan of hip hop music.

Torae – Double Barrel Tuesdays: Double Barrel Training

Torae and Marco Polo deliver another video installment of Double Barrel Tuesdays. This time, you can catch some funny as hell footage of Torae on his workout routine and listen to a sneak preview of Coney Island. Double Barrel is going to be an incredible album. Every preview of the Double Barrel album from Torae and Marco Polo has been that raw hip hop music sound that can’t be denied. June 2nd… mark the calender because Double Barrel is definitely going to be worth the purchase. BTW… Catch Torae and Marco Polo at the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival!!

Fat Jew Invades Marco Polo and Torae Party Crashers Video

I fear Fat Jew after this video. Marco Polo is joined by Fat Jew in this video as he and Torae prepare to premiere their video Party Crashers. To everyone out there beware, if you let Fat Jew in your house, he probably will never leave your couch except with the sole purpose of drinking your milk. Marco Polo and Torae drop Double Barrel on June 2nd. Stay tuned for that Party Crashers Video.

Buckshot and KRS-One Break Down Survival Skills

Buckshot and KRS-One break down the reasoning behind their chosen album name, Survival Skills, which drops August 25, 2009. Buckshot describes his respect for KRS-One. They list the various producers on the album, including Illmind, Khrysis, Marco Polo, 9th Wonder, Havoc, and Black Milk. Talk about a crazy lineup of producers. Buckshot and KRS-One also talk about the features, including Mary J. Blige, Talib Kweli, and Immortal Technique. I don’t know about you, but I’m gonna say it right now. This album is going to be CRAZY… as if you couldn’t already determine that from their first leak, Robot.

Oh yeah, and somehow I missed this video… Talib Kweli, KRS-One, and Buckshot? Yes indeed. Press play x2.

Buckshot and KRS-One – Robot Behind The Scenes Video

Buckshot and KRS-One take you behind the scenes of their video shoot for Robot, off their new album Survival Skills. Buckshot and KRS-One explain what was behind the making of the track and vocal effects and utilization of autotune as an instrument. KRS-One actually bigs up autotune and makes it clear he’s not dissing T-Pain, but all the artists that basically bit his style and the lack of the human voice in the hip hop industry now.

Both Buckshot and KRS-One have serious knowledge when it comes to hip hop music and hip hop culture, and both will forever remain a relevant face in underground hip hop, and hip hop music in general. Understand that. KRS-One stays dropping knowledge even though I know a lotta dudes, especially the newer hip hop “fans” don’t want to hear it. Robot is a dope track, and Survival Skills will be, without a doubt, a very good album.. no, a great album for hip hop music as a whole. Shout out to Mikey Fresh and Miss Info!

As a bonus, check the video below, as Buckshot, KRS-One, and Dru-Ha discuss Rick Ross vs. Asher Roth, frequently dubbed Ross v. Roth. KRS-One gots jokes, and Buckshot and Dru-Ha speak on why Rick Ross being a C.O. doesn’t matter to some.
