Nas and DJ Khalil In Studio Recording Colors

DJ Khalil unleashed this video of him and Nas recording Colors, which is an unreleased song that was supposed to be on Untitled. From the sounds of the video, the track sounds like that real hip hop music, and its a shame it wasn’t on the album. In discussing the song, Khalil went on to say that he helped coach Nas through some vocals, and the two worked together to conceptualize the song.

9th Wonder on De Blog Jam #7 – Nas Beat

I know I’ve heard it and read it basically everywhere that 9th Wonder has wanted to get Nas beats for quite some time now. God’s Stepson was a dope mixtape, and its clear that 9th Wonder has advanced his production game (new drum sounds you bet). In this Video Blog, 9th Wonder explains that he’s received a call from Nas finally about beats for his upcoming project (could we finally see another Nas album with dope beats? I’m just sayin…). Nas, word of advice… this beat would be dope for your album. Anyhow, 9th Wonder seriously had me laughing in this clip. The video effects are great and him vibing to the beat is classic… pure energy and excitement… that’s what hip hop music is about. The beat that he made to submit to Nas has that soulful yet underground hip hop appeal. Press play to check it out!

Ludacris performs/showcases track featuring Nas and Jay-Z

I’ve held off on posting the smaller snippets of this track that have been released the past few days. Best Of Both Offices has finally posted one that showcases all three verses along with the hook. The beat sounds sickening… a raw, sampled hardcore vibe. The verses… well, if you are a real fan of hip hop, you should already know. This Ludacris album is definitely gonna be worth the purchase, whether its a CD or download. One of my co-workers asked me two days ago to name my top 3 from the south… 5-6 years back I woulda dismissed the question… now its tough, but I really think Luda deserves a spot in that list. As to whether he’d be ahead of Andre 3000 and Scarface… I’ll let you decide. Check the video.
