Hip Hop Legends Show at BB Kings

DJ Snips of All Elements got some footage of the Hip Hop Legends show that went down at BB Kings. Consider this lineup: Blackmoon, Smif-N-Wessun, KRS-1, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon, Busta Rhymes, Nice and Smooth, Das Efx. That’s a true hip hop fan’s dream. No Lil Wayne, no Soulja Boy, but still a packed house. No hate, I’m just saying!!

Rakim Interview with Up and Up TV

Substantial of QN5 and Up and Up TV sit down for an interview with Rakim. Rakim speaks about coming up with a musical upbringing and how that’s influenced him as a hip hop artist. Rakim speaks on playing the sax in school, and how he used to try to mimic John Coltraine’s cadence on the sax with his flow.

Rakim also speaks on the Nas comparison, and how Nas used to come to the studio when Rakim was recording Paid in Full and Follow The Leader. He speaks on who he was listening to as a young artist, and how he realized the importance of capturing a crowd’s attention with his rhymes.

All in all, this was a dope interview. The people behind Up and Up TV have their video editing craft on smash, and Substantial hit Rakim with some good questions. On the flipside, Rakim delivered some quality answers and some interesting info. Definitely worth the watch if you love real hip hop music.

Throwback: Gravediggaz Live At The GoodLife (Project Blowed)

Here’s another throwback… The Gravediggaz were the ish back in the day. R.I.P Poetic. Their first album was dark as hell and vintage Wu… probably one of my favorite albums of all time. Here’s a video of them live at The GoodLife.
