The creation of Slaughterhouse was definitely a good look for Joell Ortiz because I feel it gave him the opportunity to be lyrical, raw, and spit that realness without having to compromise for a ringtone hit. Slaughterhouse, M.O.P. and DJ Premier on JoeBuddenTV

Slaughterhouse, M.O.P. and DJ Premier chop it up on JoeBuddenTV, most likely previewing their track. Obviously, this video took place after the Green Lantern D.O.A. freestyle and interview. Showbiz was also in the building. Joe Budden announced that he’ll be leaking the track with M.O.P. this week, so stay tuned. I’m disappointed though that M.O.P. isn’t rhyming on the track, though hopefully we’ll see a track from M.O.P. and the Slaughterhouse quartet of Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I, and Royce Da 5’9″ in the near future… with DJ Premier on the production! Joe Budden Announces October 2009 Release for The Great Escape

Following the success of Halfway House and The Padded Room, it appears that Joe Budden and Amalgam Digital are ready to release another album, which will be entitled The Great Escape. Joe Budden has stated that the album is actually the final piece of the concept trilogy, as he finally finds salvation and freedom from a sense of confinement that had defined his life and career. The Great Escape is slated to be one of Joe Budden’s best efforts yet (I feel like we hear this line whenever an artist releases a new album), and will feature several established producers and artists, which is a notable change from his usual formula. Joe Budden and Amalgam Digital have announced that The Great Escape will be released in both CD and digital form on October 13th, 2009, with two additional bonus tracks available when purchased digitally on www.AmalgamDigital.com.
