Three/21 Media Takes you Behind the Scenes at The One Video by Slaughterhouse. The One, which was shot last week, is the first video and single for Slaughterhouse’s upcoming E1 Music debut album. The whole video takes place in the penthouse of the Night Hotel, where Slaughterhouse delivers some serious bars.

Joell Ortiz continues to be one of my favorite hip hop artists out right now. The creation of Slaughterhouse was definitely a good look for Joell Ortiz because I feel it gave him the opportunity to be lyrical, raw, and spit that realness without having to compromise for a ringtone hit. With that said, this video clip presents the trailer for Joell Ortiz’s Free Agent Documentary. The Brooklyn born hip hop artist has created his own buzz on the radio, internet, and streets with his hunger, talent and tenacity as a hip hop artist. The uncanny abilities of Joell Ortiz led to his signing at Aftermath Records with Dr. Dre. Unfortunately for Aftermath Records, Joell Ortiz left the label to become a free agent, and has since created this documentary to give you an inside peek at his life, his family, his music, and his career.

Slaughterhouse, M.O.P. and DJ Premier chop it up on JoeBuddenTV, most likely previewing their track. Obviously, this video took place after the Green Lantern D.O.A. freestyle and interview. Showbiz was also in the building. Joe Budden announced that he’ll be leaking the track with M.O.P. this week, so stay tuned. I’m disappointed though that M.O.P. isn’t rhyming on the track, though hopefully we’ll see a track from M.O.P. and the Slaughterhouse quartet of Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I, and Royce Da 5’9″ in the near future… with DJ Premier on the production! We can only hope!

Following the success of Halfway House and The Padded Room, it appears that Joe Budden and Amalgam Digital are ready to release another album, which will be entitled The Great Escape.

Joe Budden has stated that the album is actually the final piece of the concept trilogy, as he finally finds salvation and freedom from a sense of confinement that had defined his life and career. The Great Escape is slated to be one of Joe Budden’s best efforts yet (I feel like we hear this line whenever an artist releases a new album), and will feature several established producers and artists, which is a notable change from his usual formula. Joe Budden and Amalgam Digital have announced that The Great Escape will be released in both CD and digital form on October 13th, 2009, with two additional bonus tracks available when purchased digitally on www.AmalgamDigital.com.

In addition, Amalgam Digital and Joe Budden will release a prelude to The Great Escape by releasing a digital-only album, entitled Escape Route, in July of 2009. Joe Budden has said that Escape Route will give fans a taste of what to expect from him on The Great Escape. Escape Route will be available exclusively at www.AmalgamDigital.com.

Could Escape Route be one of the four EPs that each of the four Slaughterhouse members (Royce Da 5’9″, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I, and Joe Budden) have announced? We already know Royce Da 5’9″ is releasing The Revival on July 7, 2009. It only makes sense that Escape Route will be one of the four. This is going to be an incredible summer/fall for the Slaughterhouse quartet, as we now know of these four EPs, the Slaughterhouse album, Street Hop, and The Great Escape? It is, without a doubt, a good time to be a real hip hop fan. Good hip hop music is back!

On July 7, 2009, Royce Da 5’9″ will be releasing The Revival EP in preparation for the release of his Street Hop LP, due out for release on September 22. Street Hop will be executive produced by DJ Premier. It’s going to be a big year for Royce Da 5’9″ with the release of The Revival (cover art is dope!!), the Slaughterhouse album, and Street Hop. It’s a long time coming, as Royce Da 5’9″ has been one of the nicest hip hop artists for some time. Check the tracklist below, which will feature a new track from Slaughterhouse. The EP will be available for sale at all major digital retail outlets.

Hip Hop Official chops it up with Royce Da 5’9″, 1/4 of Slaughterhouse. Royce Da 5’9″ speaks on the incredible buzz that has generated with Slaughterhouse. He states that Slaughterhouse has completed only the four songs that they’ve already leaked, but those four songs have done incredible things for the group. They’ve been touring non-stop, which is one of the reasons they haven’t put out more music.

Royce Da 5’9″ mentions that Slaughterhouse would like to complete an EP before Rock The Bells, which is in June. Stay tuned for that. Royce Da 5’9″ also discusses his upcoming album, Street Hop, which drops on July 7. Pete Rock brought out the quartet of Joe Budden, Royce Da 5’9″, Joell Ortiz and Crooked I as surprise guests at The Key Club. In the first clip, catch Slaughterhouse performing Onslaught. In the second clip, they perform Slaughterhouse, and in the third, Royce Da 5’9″ performs Boom.

Culture VI sits down with Royce Da 5’9″. He discusses his upcoming Street Hop album and the features which include Bun B, and all of the Slaughterhouse crew. He states that he is better than he’s ever been, and he’s finally entered his own lane without worries of video and radio play. He discusses the importance of Slaughterhouse supporting each other. They speak on Joe Budden‘s beat selection, and Royce’s ear for excellent production. Lastly, he talks about the power and importance of relationships in the music industry.

It sounds like Royce da 5’9″ has a very dope offering with Street Hop. The clip of the beat they played was niiice! I really do agree with him in that he’s found his own lane. The Slaughterhouse situation may have benefited him more than anyone in the group, and honestly, it’s refreshing to see artists say that they are not relying on radio play nor video play, but rather their own grind. It’s really a grass roots movement… Barack Obama done started something! It’s kind of funny how they brought up Budden’s beat selection. Joe Budden is one of the best lyrical artists out, but he does suffer from Nas and Canibus syndrome when it comes to beats.
