Duck Down Records had a very solid year thus far with successful releases from Torae, and Buckshot and KRS-One. Not too mention Skyzoo readying to drop his album, The Salvation on Tuesday. Duck Down Records has been at the forefront of the recent resurgence in hip hop music. DruHa, NoHa and the camp are doing real good things for the culture and music as a whole. In April, the conglomerate took it back to the essence with a Cipher in the Park. The cipher is quite possibly one of the illest artforms of the hip hop culture, as emcees work to win over a crowd by showcasing their ability to rhyme. Torae, Skyzoo, Rock of Heltah Skeltah, General Steele of Smif-N-Wessun, Naledge of Kidz in the Hall, Buckshot, and members of Team Facelift step to the plate in this event.

Duck Down Records – Tribute To The Classics Live Performance

All I can say is if you are were in Brooklyn and you missed this show… shame on you. Duck Down Records invaded SouthPaw for an incredible event hosted by J Hatch. Understand what this event was… Torae and Marco Polo opening things up, and then Blackmoon and Smif-N-Wessun killin’ it on stage with classic material. Guest appearances from Sean Price, Craig G, OGC and more… now are you seeing why I’m saying shame on you if you missed this event? Smif-N-Wessun heads out to Europe on Wednesday! Torae and Marco Polo’s Double Barrel drops June 2.

Jaisu and S-Type In Store Showcase at Underground Solush’n

Jaisu and S-Type held a listeners showcase to preview a variety of their beats at their in-store at Underground Solush’n in Edinburgh. The event took place on April 25th. It’s good to see that good hip hop music is alive and well overseas… with that real hip hop music, whether you want to call it underground hip hop music or not, resurfacing here in the US, things are definitely looking up.

S-Type also debuted Grind With Me, the track S-Type produced on TEK of Smif-N-Wessun‘s upcoming album 24Kt Smoke. Shoutouts to Jay Large and OJ Loopz of On It Management. Much more to come from Jaisu and S-Type, believe it!
