Torae and Marco Polo continue Double Barrel Tuesdays with this video of them at the HeadQCourterz with DJ Premier. Shout out to Torae and Marco Polo. Double Barrel is a crazy album. It must be an incredible feeling to not only hear but see DJ Premier, one of the greatest of all time, spinning your records live on radio. Not only spinning the records, but bigging up your records on air. DJ Premier speaks on the importance on making an incredible record, and being able to bring a dope live show to the table. This is a great look for Torae and Marco Polo.

Consider this lineup: Blackmoon, Smif-N-Wessun, KRS-1, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon, Busta Rhymes, Nice and Smooth, Das Efx. That’s a true hip hop fan’s dream. No Lil Wayne, no Soulja Boy, but still a packed house. No hate, I’m just saying!!

If you haven’t bought your copy of Double Barrel yet… honestly what are you waiting for? It’s one of the best releases this year, particularly from a New York artist. Duck Down Records Cipher in the Park (Buckshot, Rock, Steele, Torae, Skyzoo, Naledge and more)

Duck Down Records has been at the forefront of the recent resurgence in hip hop music. DruHa, NoHa and the camp are doing real good things for the culture and music as a whole. In April, the conglomerate took it back to the essence with a Cipher in the Park. The cipher is quite possibly one of the illest artforms of the hip hop culture, as emcees work to win over a crowd by showcasing their ability to rhyme. Torae, Skyzoo, Rock of Heltah Skeltah, General Steele of Smif-N-Wessun, Naledge of Kidz in the Hall, Buckshot, and members of Team Facelift step to the plate in this event.

Double Barrel drops TOMORROW! I shouldn’t have to tell you to go out and cop the album, but I’m going to anyways… go out and purchase it. Torae and Marco Polo put together an album that embodies the truest of true hip hop essences. Believe me when I say it, its a complete work, hip hop in its realest form from start to finish. Anyhow, Torae continues making his rounds to promote the album. This time, he stops in at Jay Smooth‘s radio show (shout out to illdoctrine.com), and drops a freestyle for everyone.

Duck Down Records – Tribute To The Classics Live Performance

All I can say is if you are were in Brooklyn and you missed this show… shame on you. Duck Down Records invaded SouthPaw for an incredible event hosted by J Hatch. Understand what this event was… Torae and Marco Polo opening things up, and then Blackmoon and Smif-N-Wessun killin’ it on stage with classic material. Guest appearances from Sean Price, Craig G, OGC and more… now are you seeing why I’m saying shame on you if you missed this event? Smif-N-Wessun heads out to Europe on Wednesday!
