Inspectah Deck Interview with Angela Yee

Angela Yee sat down for an interview with the man that had one of the illest verses in the history of hip hop music, Inspectah Deck. Angela Yee and Inspectah Deck discuss the rumors behind the backstage “brawl” at Rock The Bells at Jones Beach between Wu-Tang and Slaughterhouse. Inspectah Deck speaks on why he released the Joe Budden diss, and he also reveals that his upcoming album will be his last.

Wizard of Poetry: New Ghostface Killah Album Coming in September

Looks like September is shaping up nicely for hip hop music, and the Wu Tang clan. After a solid opening week for their Chamber Music release, the Wu is ready to hit the masses once again in September with not only Raekwon’s highly anticipated Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II release, but also Wizard of Poetry, the upcoming album from Ghostface Killah.

From the words of Lenny S, Wizard of Poetry sounds like its going to be a little different than the typical Ghostface Killah album. Not only will Ghostface Killah be rapping over soulful, melodic beats, but he’ll also be working with the best of the best in R&B, including John Legend, Musiq Soulchild, Estelle, and the like. Check the video!

Raekwon Pushes Back Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II To September 8, 2009

Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II Pushed Back To September 8, 2009

Raekwon has announced today that Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II has been pushed back from August 11, 2009 to September 8, 2009. The reasons cited for the push back were issues with sample clearance, and the leak of the track named Surgical Gloves.

Raekwon has been blatantly annoyed by the leak of Surgical Gloves, expressing his anger and disappointment on twitter since it happened. The fact that Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II was pushed back yet again should not come as a surprise to anybody for obvious reasons, but since we’ve waited this long for it, one more month of waiting can’t be that bad. I only hope the album is what everybody is expecting. I guess it makes the Slaughterhouse vs. Raekwon face-off on August 11 a dead issue.

Hip Hop Legends Show at BB Kings

DJ Snips of All Elements got some footage of the Hip Hop Legends show that went down at BB Kings. Consider this lineup: Blackmoon, Smif-N-Wessun, KRS-1, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon, Busta Rhymes, Nice and Smooth, Das Efx. That’s a true hip hop fan’s dream. No Lil Wayne, no Soulja Boy, but still a packed house. No hate, I’m just saying!!

RZA Speaks on Wu-Tang’s Chamber Music

RZA speaks on the upcoming release from the Wu-Tang Clan, Chamber Music. Chamber Music, along with Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2, mark two high profile releases from Wu-Tang in 2009, which has led to many wondering whether its possible that the Wu-Tang Clan is making a serious return to the hip hop game. The video clip begins by dubbing Chamber Music as the album that Wu-Tang fans have been waiting for. The tracklist is incredible, so I can say that I’m hopeful. June 30th y’all! I’ll be in line at FYE to pick up my copy of Chamber Music. Will you?

Raekwon and Nas Collaboration on Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2?

Raekwon checks in at 4 AM after a studio session to discuss the mixtapes he has in the streets, and Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 aka The Purple Tape Part 2. Raekwon calls out Nas and tells him that he better keep his word on a collaboration for Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2. A Raekwon and Nas collaboration would be crazy. I got a feeling that Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 is going to be some serious classic material. It’s gonna be a hot summer for hip hop music. Believe that!
